Lesser Bilby

The Bilby is an Australian marsupial that resides in the deserts of Australia, they used to populate over 80% of the land but have been driven out into the dessert by introduced species and human civilisation.

Now the Greater Bilby only populates under 15% of Australia, including ;

Tanami Desert (Northern Territory)

Gibson

Little

Great Sandy Deserts

Pilbara (Western Australia)

Kimberley (Western Australia)

Mitchell Grasslands (southwest Queensland)

There are two types of Bilbies, the Lesser Bilby (Macrotis leucura) now presumed extinct, and the Greater Bilby (Macrotis lagotis) grouped as vulnerable.
